Cyclo Cross

Cyclo cross is a fun and accessible form of cycle racing that takes place on a marked course off road.

It is open to all age groups and genders, having all levels of experience. Most riders use cyclo cross specific bikes, but gravel bikes or mountain bikes are also fine.

There are different races for different age groups as well as for novices in the following categories;

  • Under 8’s (girls and boys)
  • Under 10’s (girls and boys)
  • Under 12’s (girls and boys)
  • Youths U14’s and U16’s (girls and boys in separate races)
  • Junior men and Junior women (U18’s) – separate races
  • Novices (men and women)
  • Senior men and women (under 40) – separate races
  • Vet 40’s men and women – separate races
  • Vet 50’s men and women – separate races including over 60’s

Parking

Main parking is in Gadebridge Park, access from Gadebridge Lane, just off the Leighton Buzzard Road (B440).

Alternate parking is in the surrounding roads but please be considerate to local residents

Registration/Race HQ

All the events take place in the park.

Registration is at the bottom of the hill, near the start/finish area on the opposite side of the Leighton Buzzard road from the car park (access via pedestrian underpass).

  • 10:15 Youth U14’s/U16’s (30 mins)
  • 10:16 Novice Race (30 mins)
  • 11:00 Course open for sighting (25mins)
  • 11:30 V40 Men (40 mins)
  • 11:31 V50 Men (40 mins)
  • 11:32 Junior Men (40 mins)
  • 12:40 Vet 60+ men ()
  • 12:42 Women (Junior to V50+) (40 mins)
  • 13:35 Course open for sighting (20mins)
  • 14:00 Senior Men (60 mins)

Race day timetable will be subject to weather and local conditions and the BC commissaires will have the final say.
