Details
We're hoping to run a full series of Thursday evening events with just a few restrictions (see below).
The start will be at the usual location adjacent to Great Gaddesden Parish Hall (Dagnall Road, HP1 3BW almost opposite Hemel Hempstead garden centre).
Note, under CTT regulations all riders must have working front and red rear light, and wear an approved helmet.
Volunteer marshalls are required to enable events to take place. If you don't intend to ride and could help out, it would be great to see you there!

Extra Information
Reminder:
Working front and rear lights must be fitted in use in all Cycling Time Trial events. If you don't have working lights we won't be able to let you start.
You'll also need to race in an approved helmet.
We'll have a few lights at the HQ in case anybody forgets but can the regulars please source your own.
Open Competition
Scratch competition based on the finishing positions in each of the club time trial events. The points are 20 for 1st place, down to 2 points for 19th, and 1 point for every other finisher. Your best 10 scoring events are then totalled. As there are more than 10 events that you can ride (plus the hilly) you can afford to not ride some or discard some lower scores.
Separate competitions for time trial bikes and road bikes. Male and female. Open to all starters.
Double points for the hilly TT (40, 38, 36 etc) in June and, if you start an event and DNF, you'll also get a consolation point.
Club Competitions
For those of you who ride these events we run several competitions during the year as follows.
For HHCC Full Members
Scratch & Handicap are based on a points system on the finishing positions on each of the 10 mile events. The points are 20 for 1st place, down to 2 for 19th, and 1 point for every other finisher. Your best 10 scoring events are then totalled. As there are more than 10 events that you can ride (plus the hilly) you can afford to not ride some or discard some lower scores.
On Scratch there is a separate competition for men and women, each having the top 20 with their own points. The Handicap is fought between all members.
Veterans also have a season long competition to find the one achieving the best time on Vet’s Standard (a kind of handicapping based on age 40+)
There is also a Longmarker event (usually held as the 2nd club 10 of the season) where anyone who has not gone faster than 25 mins in the club events in recent years qualifies & the fastest of those wins.
And then, when we have dialled in everyone's handicap, we have the Handicap 10 in August where the fastest on handicap wins.
Volunteering
It is expected that everyone does their share of helping out at the events at some point during the season. There is a requirement for at least one each of the following people at every event: Time Keeper, Start holder (Pusher), Dagnall marshal (and preferably 2) & turn marshal. We normally need 2 timekeepers too - one to be at the start and one for the finish.
2026 Hill Climb
Our popular end of season club event to be held on Sunday 4th October 2026 at 10:00am.
Details
It's held up the relatively easy Ivinghoe Beacon so a good test for everybody. The start is on the B489, starting opposite the Ivinghoe Aston junction, before sweeping along the B489 to the left turn onto the climb proper, then it's a short trip up to the 's' bends, blast up the steep bit and finish just before the top cattle grid, a distance of 1.5 miles. Most people will get under 9 minutes, if you want to be up with the fast boys and girls then 5 minutes is competititive with 4:14 being the best time in the last 20 years. Get practising.
Open to all, club members and friends. Cost is £5 for HHCC members and £7 for non HHCC members. Just turn up and enter on the day.
